Cute squid logo design

Really enjoyed designing this one. Love playing with all the tools and layers on illustrator. I started off by sketching until i found a suitbale squid, using layout paper to get the shape right.
The whole squid is symmetrical minus the spots on the top, so to save time and make the squid exactly symmetrical I created half the squid, shadows and all. Once half the squid was created I copied and reflected it making up the whole squid and then joined all the layers together.

I wanted to strike a balance between corporate and being trustworthy and fun. The cubic shape and font choice helps with the corporate bit, the colours and making letters from the shape add some of the fun elements.
